Complexity is overrated
I love physics because it genuienly satisfies my brain. It literally has cured my depression.
I gained physics literacy in the last 3 years of my physics education and in short it is all about simplifying. It’s about explaining everything in the purest form. It’s about proving universe is actually not that complex.
It indeed is not. I reckon emotions is a much more complex concept.
Emotions besides being bunch of chemical feedback mechanisms, it’s also the tool that allows our consciousness to communicate with the nature. In the most complex way possible.
Human through out the years spend their time trying to simplify the information that they’ve been exposed to. Heavy objects sinks, birds fly with their wings, people kills, green is not red, God is up there somewhere etc.
Collectively, humans made things complicated. They formed things that wasn’t purely in the nature.
There must be a rate that relates the the human brain’s capacity and information they’re getting exposed to. As of today, humans doesn’t have the capasity to process the information that is constantly generated. It is an overload.
The information generated doesn’t always fit in a model. It’s noice. And there’s plenty of noice sources out there — making things more complicated than it should be. Like X.
That’s why AI is born right? To process information that we simply can’t. AI is considerably the greatest value and tool we have today. And it seems pretty unlimited.
So what as we process further information? We have been processing the nature for the last 10.000 years since the Neolithic Revolution and this is where we at today. AI has the capasity to do this, in what, a week?
Surely I couldn’t find a corresponding comparison for AI vs. Human discovery capasity because the literature today is seemigly very pessimistic. This article for example claims AI has a lack of creativity. You mean the capability of human brain to combine information as a drive of survival instinct?
AI can do that. But it requires a well-defined motivation that will overshadow the primitive instinct of survival so AI won’t bash us.
AI can be creative if we program it to be so. How? is the question.
